Your favourite music industry soap opera won't get a fifth season



ABC has just shockingly pulled the plug on Nashville.

The network confirmed on Thursday (May 12) that it will not move forward with a fifth season of the music industry soap opera.

This means that Nashville's May 25 episode 'Maybe You'll Appreciate Me Someday' will now serve as its series finale.

Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere played beefing country music superstars in Nashville, which spun off into successful concert tours and primetime music specials.

Nashville continuously attempted to innovative its format, famously integrating live music segments into filmed episodes in previous years.

The Callie Khouri-created show premiered amidst much fanfare on ABC back in October 2012.
