The executive producers behind Fox's sci-fi series Terra Nova have promised a huge cliffhanger for the show's first season finale.
René Echevarria and Brannon Braga said that the show will follow a more serialised format from now on, leading up to the final episode in December.
"We come to see the conspiracy with the Sixers is being orchestrated in 2149, and as we get toward the season finale we will go to 2149 and see that more explicitly,"
Echevarria explained to Entertainment Weekly. "It's kind of a cliffhanger. All the elements come to a head, it's a two-hour finale."
"The 11th Pilgrimage is scheduled to arrive - and who's going to show up?" he continued. "We also set up a new mystery, so in that sense it's a cliffhanger."
The two also warned fans to expect the death of a "beloved" character before the end of this season.
When asked whether the show is likely to get a second season order, Echevarria and Braga said that they were "confident" that Terra Nova will prove a success for Fox.
Terra Nova continues on October 31.
