According to Entertainment Weekly, the cable network has ordered 13 more episodes of the sci-fi series.

The show stars Stargate actress Amanda Tapping, Robin Dunne, Ryan Robbins, Agam Darshi and Christopher Heyerdahl.

The programme, which began as a web series and is filmed using green screen backdrops, is expected to return this fall.

Sanctuary airs Friday nights on Syfy.
