This morning, the network has officially canceled its original series, “Salvation,” after 2 seasons. The news comes several months after the drama series wrapped up its second season back in September.

Created by Elizabeth Kruger, Craig Shapiro, and Matt JL Wheeler, “Salvation” focused on an MIT grad student, a tech superstar, and a low-level Pentagon official after they discover a staggering truth – that an asteroid is just months away from colliding with Earth. Together, the three are forced to work desperately to try and prevent the asteroid’s arrival and the possible destruction of the entire planet.

The series starred Charlie Rowe, Jennifer Finnigan, Santiago Cabrera, Jacqueline Byers, Ian Anthony Dale, Rachel Drance, Erica Luttrell, and more. Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro served as showrunners on the series, and executive produced it alongside Alex Kurtzmann, Heather Kadin, Stuart Gillard, and Peter Lenkov.

“Salvation” suffered a noticeable ratings drop in its second season. It averaged a 0.3 live + same day rating in adults 18-49 with 2.67 million viewers, down from its first season’s 0.5 average.
