“Colony” ends its second season on USA Thursday. If the episode happens to be a cliffhanger, don’t sweat it — you’ll get to see more of the show in 2018USA has picked up a third season of the series, which is set in a world where aliens have occupied Earth and set up (obviously) colonies in major cities. The show centers on a Los Angeles couple (Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies) who are part of a resistance movement.
“‘Colony’ continues to fire on all cylinders creatively, with [creators Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal] and our incredible cast and crew striking a deep chord around the themes of humanity, survival and family,” Chris McCumber, entertainment networks president for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, says in a statement. “Along with our partners Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for our heroes next season.”
“Colony” averages a 0.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 814,000 viewers the night it airs, off some from its Season 1 marks of 0.4 and 1.13 million viewers. It typically doubles its 18-49 rating and more than doubles its total audience with a week of DVR and on-demand viewing.
Season 3 is set to run 13 episodes (the same length as the current season) and premiere sometime in 2018.
