Ash vs Evil Dead is getting a third season

OK, so season two has only just begun airing but Ash vs Evil Dead has already been confirmed for a third season!

According to Deadline, Bruce Campbell will return for another 10 episodes in fall 2017 (or autumn 2017, if you will).

Not only does the news come the same week as season two's premiere, but the day after the cast and crew appeared on stage at New York Comic-Con 2016.

The official Ash v Evil Dead Twitter page uploaded a short video of star Lucy Lawless doing her iconic warrior battle cry from Xena: Warrior Princess.

Lawless plays Ruby in the horror comedy series - originally an enemy of Ash's, the two must work together for the greater good (and to kick ass). Other cast members at the panel included Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, Ted Raimi and Lee Majors.

Earlier this year, Bruce Campbell talked about the possibility of the Ash vs Evil Dead TV series reviving the Evil Dead film series from the, er, dead.

"One feeds the other," he explained. "The movies were dead. Now the TV show comes back, the movies come back to life.

"It's funny how that works."

Producer Robert Tapert echoed his thoughts, saying "Is there a movie out there that we are thinking about that would continue on that would merge everything? There certainly are those thoughts starting to percolate."

Ash vs Evil Dead airs on the Starz network.
