Babylon 5 star Jerry Doyle has sadly passed away at the age of 60.

The actor and radio host was best known for playing Michael Garibaldi on the much-loved '90s sci-fi TV series.

His family confirmed that Jerry was found unresponsive at home in Las Vegas yesterday, with his cause of death yet to be revealed.

Doyle's first acting role came alongside Bruce Willis in Moonlighting, before he starred in the 1993 TV movie Babylon 5: The Gathering.

That movie led to the successful TV series, which ran for five seasons until 1998.

Doyle had recently left the acting world for a radio career, hosting The Jerry Doyle Show on Talk Radio Network.

He also launched the news platform EpicTimes in 2013.

Babylon 5 creator J Michael Straczynski released a statement on EpicTimes, saying: "Jerry was a consummate professional.

"Regardless of whatever was going on in his life, whether it was marital issues, a broken arm, forced couch-surfing with Bruce and Andreas or other problems, he never once pulled a prima donna on us; he showed up every day on time, knew his lines, and insisted that the guest cast live up to the standards of the main cast."
