Agents of SHIELD has been picked up for a full season.ABC confirmed on Thursday (October 9) that the Marvel comic book series will be given a full 22-episode season.
Marvel's Agents of SHIELD - which is produced by Joss Whedon - debuted to massive ratings on Tuesday, September 24, but subsequent weeks have seen the viewership dip moderately.
Clark Gregg leads the show's ensemble cast as SHIELD agent Phil Coulson, a role which he played on the big screen in The Avengers and other Marvel films.
The supporting cast includes Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge.
Agents of SHIELD's first two episodes also featured appearances from Gregg's Avengers co-stars Cobie Smulders and Samuel L Jackson.
ABC airs Agents of SHIELD on Tuesdays on ABC in the US. Channel 4 broadcasts the show in the UK.
