Neflix subscribers in the US, Canada and Latin America are facing a price hike if they want to keep tabs on Daredevil and House of Cards. The streaming giant announced today that new customers in the aforementioned regions will now have to pay $9.99 per month - up $1 - for the multi-screen standard HD plan.
Existing customers will maintain their $8.99-per-month rate for the next year, at which time their fee will also increase.
Netflix announced today (November 8): "To continue adding more TV shows and movies including many Netflix original titles, we are modestly raising the price for some new members in the US.
"As a thank you to existing Netflix members — who aren't already benefiting from grandfathering — we will maintain their current price for a year."
