The four comedies have not been recommissioned by the network, it was announced today (May 9).

Up All Night's axe was strongly rumoured after Christina Applegate left the series, which attempted to reboot itself as a multicamera comedy.

Co-star Will Arnett has also moved on to Greg Garcia's CBS comedy pilot.

Whitney ran for two seasons and starred Whitney Cummings in the title role as a woman determined not to let her relationship with partner Alex (Chris D'Elia) flounder.

Meanwhile, Guys with Kids - executive produced by Jimmy Fallon - starred Anthony Anderson, Jesse Bradford and Zach Cregger, but only achieved moderate ratings for the channel.

Set in the White House and starring Bill Pullman, Josh Gad and Jenna Elfman, 1600 Penn first aired in December and ran for one season, amounting to 12 episodes.

No further comment has been given by NBC.

The network has also announced that it has renewed comedy Parks and Recreation for a sixth season.
