The Cleveland Show has been cancelled, reports suggest.

The Family Guy spinoff will not return for a fifth season, according to blog The Animation Guild.

Fox is yet to officially confirm the animated comedy's cancellation, though ratings are at an all-time low, with Sunday night's (April 14) instalment attracting just 2.5m viewers in the US.

The character of Cleveland Brown - voiced by Mike Henry - was a regular in the first seven seasons of Family Guy before landing his own show in 2009.

The future of Family Guy and Seth MacFarlane's other Fox animation American Dad! is secure, with both shows having already been renewed.

The Cleveland Show continues on Sundays at 7.30/6.30c on Fox and airs on E4 in the UK.

Fox on 'The Cleveland Show' future: 'No more episodes at this time'

Fox sources have denied that The Cleveland Show has been axed.

A blog post from The Animation Guild claimed that the Family Guy spinoff had been cancelled.

However, Fox has now told The Futon Critic that the animated comedy is yet to be officially dropped, though added that it has "not ordered any additional episodes of The Cleveland Show at this time".

A final decision on the fate of The Cleveland Show could be made next month, when Fox will present its annual upfront presentation on May 13.

Fox's other animated series - The Simpsons and Bob's Burgers, plus Seth MacFarlane's own Family Guy and American Dad - have already been renewed.
