NBC has axed its comedy Animal Practice.The Justin Kirk sitcom's ratings have steadily dipped since its pilot premiered during the network's coverage of the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony in August.
The show's final episode will air on November 7, with Whitney moving from Fridays to the Wednesday 8pm slot from the following week.
NBC had hinted that it had particular plans for Whitney and Community after their season premieres were pushed back from Friday (October 19).
Whitney and Guys With Kids remain the only multi-camera comedies on NBC, and will now air directly after one another.
NBC has also given full season orders to Go On, The New Normal and new drama Revolution, while Chicago Fire and Guys With Kids have yet to have their futures decided.
Animal Practice opened with a high adults 18-49 demo rating of 4.1 and 12.8 million viewers on August 12, but had fallen to 1.4 and 5.19m by September, and most recently to just 1.0.
