“Good Girls” has been renewed for a second season in 2018-19. The news comes just a week after the series wrapped up its 10-episode first season..

Created by Jenna Bans (“The Family”), “Good Girls” follows three suburban mothers who suddenly find their simple lives thrown into disarray, and as a result, decide to stop playing it safe and risk everything to take their power back – no matter who or what may get in their way. It stars Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Retta, Reno Wilson, Matthew Lillard, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Kaitlyn Oechsle and more.

Boasting some recognizable TV veterans as its three leads, “Good Girls” was mostly well-received critically throughout its first season, though, it wasn’t ever quite the critical darling that some viewers might have hoped going into it. Still, the series’ first season boasted a 1.0 average live + same-day rating in adults 18-49 with 4.45 million viewers, and either grabbed or tied for the No. 1 spot in the Monday 10 p.m. time slot against its ABC and CBS competition for about half of its run, especially once ABC’s “The Good Doctor” had wrapped up its own season.

With a week of delayed viewing, the show improved to 1.6 in adults 18-49 and 6.21 million viewers.

“Good Girls” now joins “This is Us,” “The Good Place,” “Superstore,” and “Will & Grace” on the list of NBC shows confirmed to be returning for the 2018-19 season. The network will present its lineup for next season to advertisers on May 14.
