The CW renewed “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” on Monday, along with most of the rest of its lineup. The show will be back for a fourth season in 2018-19

Soon after the pickup announcement, however, co-creator and star Rachel Bloom said Season 4 will be “Crazy Ex’s” last. “Just turned on my wifi on our flight to Chicago and found out that ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ has been renewed for a final season,” Bloom tweeted.

The CW isn’t commenting on whether the series will indeed wrap up next season. For what it’s worth, Bloom has said in the past that she saw the show running four seasons.

“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” has won critical acclaim and a handful of awards during its three seasons — notably a Golden Globe for Bloom in 2016 — but it’s been among the lowest-rated shows on broadcast TV in that time.

Seasons 1 and 2 had the smallest audience and 18-49 rating of any series on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and The CW in 2015-16 and ’16-’17. This season, “Crazy Ex” averaged a 0.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 631,000 viewers for first airings (0.3 and 796,000 after a week of delayed viewing).

It may just avoid the last-place slot for 2017-18 depending on how the remaining episodes of two other CW shows, “Life Sentence” and “Dynasty,” shake out.
