It was coming. Now it's been made official - Melissa McCarthy sitcom Mike & Molly has been axed.
CBS entertainment president Glenn Geller confirmed at the Television Critics Association Press Tour that the show will not continue beyond its sixth season.
Geller was quick to praise the showrunners as well as McCarthy and her co-star Billy Gardell.
"These decisions are really challenging," he said. "I have a tremendous amount of respect for Chuck Lorre, for Al Higgins, for Melissa, for Billy. They literally put blood, sweat and tears into this programme. But I can confirm that this will be the last season of Mike & Molly.
"I think the fans will be very satisfied with what Chuck and Al have planned [for the finale]."
Mike & Molly star Rondi Reed broke the news to her fans on Facebook last month.
"I remain extremely grateful to have been part of this and to have worked with a fabulous bunch of folks over the years," she wrote.
More than 100 episodes of Mike & Molly have been produced.
