Fresh Off the Boat has received a full season order from ABC.



The sitcom was originally renewed for a 13-episode second run, but will now air an additional nine episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The back order takes the total number of episodes for this season to 22.

Fresh Off the Boat is loosely based on the life of Eddie Huang, a chef, restaurateur and food personality. Hudson Yang plays a young Eddie in the 1990s, as his family move to Orlando, Florida to set up a steak restaurant.

Randall Park and Constance Wu portray Eddie's parents Louis and Jessica, while Forrest Wheeler, Ian Chen, Lucille Soong and Chelsey Crisp also star.

Fresh Off the Boat is ABC's first Asian-American sitcom in more than ten years.
