The actress passed away in her sleep on Wednesday night (August 14) at a rehab facility in California. The cause of her death is yet to be confirmed.

Kelly's agent Craig Wyckoff said in a statement: "Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years.

"I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. [Wednesday] night she lost the battle. Cause of death has not been issued yet and no death certificate has been issued either."

The actress played Laurie, the elder sister of Eric Forman (Topher Grace), on That '70s Show for three seasons, later returning briefly in the fifth run.

She also made TV appearances in Murphy Brown and Charmed, and starred in movie Amityville Dollhouse.

Kelly had endured difficult times in recent years, having been in the public eye for arrests in relation to drink-driving and assault. She had also filed for divorce from husband Robert Gilliam earlier this year.
