CBS has decided not to broadcast the season finale of Mike & Molly following the tragedy in Oklahoma.A tornado hit a suburb of Oklahoma City on Monday (May 20), destroying a number of buildings including a school.
Mike & Molly's season finale - due to air at 9.30pm ET on the network - has now been pulled due to its similar content.
"Due to the tragic events this afternoon in Oklahoma, we are pre-empting tonight's season finale of Mike & Molly, which has a related storyline," said a CBS spokesman.
"A repeat broadcast of Mike & Molly will run in the time period. The season finale will be broadcast at an appropriate date."
An official synopsis of the episode in question read: "Mike and Carl get stuck working at the Renaissance Faire after their boss, Patrick, gets dumped by Mike's mother.
"Later, as a tornado descends on Chicago, Mike and Molly each confess important news to each other."
Mike & Molly creator Mike Roberts recently left his position as showrunner and executive producer.
The Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell-starring show was renewed for a fourth season earlier this year.
