Minnie Driver has joined the cast of CBS pilot Happy Life.



The actress will play the female lead in the comedy project formally known as Joe Time, reports TV Line.

Driver remains involved in NBC comedy About a Boy, which is yet to be picked up for another series.

She tweeted: "Also, yes, I'm doing a pilot for CBS, but within the utterly whacked landscape of Network TV, @NBCAboutaBoy may yet come back..w/all of us."

Happy Life follows Joe (Steven Weber), a man bitter about the fact that people around him are happy and pursuing their dreams.

Driver will play Joe's wife, while Rita Moreno will appear as his fitness-obsessed mother Judy.

Alli Kinzel and Nolan Ammon will play two of Joe's children.

The pilot is executive produced by Bill Wrubel and directed by James Burrows.
