The honeymoon is over for HBO and its critically-acclaimed relationship comedy Togetherness.
The series from mumblecore stalwarts Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass will not be back for a third season at the premium channel.
"Although we have decided not to proceed with another season of Togetherness, we look forward to continuing our strong creative collaboration with the talented Jay and Mark Duplass," HBO told Deadline.
Togetherness explored the complications of romance and friendship through the eyes of a married couple (Mark Duplass and Melanie Lynskey) and their quirky extended family (Amanda Peet and Steve Zissis).
The series was a critical darling - but not even good reviews could save it from the chop.
HBO has slotted the season two ender - and now series finale - for April 10.
