Iron Man 2 has debuted at the top of the US box office.The Jon Favreau-directed blockbuster, starring Robert Downey Jr, has claimed $133.6 million in its first week in release.
The re-imagination of the horror classic A Nightmare On Elm Street slips to number two with $9.1 million, followed by the animated feature How To Train Your Dragon in third place with $6.7 million and Date Night taking the fourth slot with $5.3 million.
In its third week in release, Jennifer Lopez's The Back-Up Plan still has not managed to surpass its budget of $35 million. The rom-com has fallen to fifth place with $4.3 million.
Finally, debuting in tenth place this week is the the documentary Babies with $1.5 million.
