Speaking to Coming Soon, RealD president Joseph Peixoto said that the new glasses are made to fit children aged 8 and younger.

The glasses will reportedly be available nationwide when the film opens this weekend.

"The little ones will be able to comfortably enjoy the great summer movies coming out in RealD 3D wearing glasses designed just for them," Peixoto said.

He added: "Kid-sized RealD 3D glasses are made to the same high-quality standards as adult size RealD glasses, with each individually packaged in sealed bags, ensuring they are clean and fresh for every moviegoer.''

Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 3, featuring the voices of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, opens this Friday in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D.
