Star Wars: The Force Awakens has taken $154m in its second week to retain the US box office.


The film saw off competition from new entries Daddy's Home and Joy, which are in second and third place with $38.8m and $17.5m respectively.

Meanwhile, Sisters is at 4 with $13.9m and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip is at 5 with $12.7m.

Concussion is new in at 6 with $11m, The Big Short is up twelve places to 7 with $10.5m and Point Break is new at 8 with $10.2m.

Finally, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 is at 9 with $5.3m and Creed rounds out the top 10 with $4.6m.

US box-office top-ten in full:
