Jurassic World dominates US box office

Jurassic World has dominated the US box office in its opening weekend, taking over $200 million.


The dinosaur blockbuster starring Chris Pratt took $204.6m, giving it the second biggest domestic opening in history after The Avengers' $207.4m in 2012.

Jurassic World sends comedy film Spy down to number two with $16m, while disaster movie San Andreas moves down to three with $11m.

Insidious Chapter 3 falls to four with $7.3m, as Pitch Perfect 2's $6m places the sequel at number five.

Entourage is at six with $4.3m, and Mad Max: Fury Road takes seven with $4.1m.

Number eight goes to Avengers: Age of Ultron with $3.6m, while Disney's Tomorrowland lands at nine with $3.4m.

Finally, Love & Mercy rounds out the top ten films of the week with $1.7m.
