NBC's 'Dateline' wins Friday night ratings victory

NBC picked up another Friday night ratings victory last night, winning the adults demographic thanks to a highly-rated episode of Dateline.

The weekly news programme scored a 1.5 rating in the all-important 18-49 adults demographic with 5.44m viewers tuning in.

Dateline was preceded by the 2011 ALMA Awards at 8pm, which scored an audience of 2.55m.

CBS had the highest average audience of the night with 5.63m, thanks to a 48 Hours: Bullying special which landed 4.73m, followed by reruns of CSI: New York and Blue Bloods with 5.76m and 6.39m viewers apiece.

Elsewhere, ABC started off the night with 3.86m tuning in for a rerun of Shark Tank at 8pm, followed by Karaoke Battle USA with 3.2m and 20/20 at 10pm interesting 4.48m viewers.

FOX aired a repeat of Kitchen Nightmares at 8pm to 2.55m, followed by another rerun of sci-fi series Fringe to an audience of 1.64m.

Finally, The CW gave viewers a second chance to see the premiere episode of Sarah Michelle Gellar-led drama Ringer, which aired to 1.9m, followed by supernatural series The Secret Circle, which scored 1.61m viewers.
