The network will be kicking off the 2019-20 season with its annual broadcast of the Primetime Emmy Awards, airing Sunday, Sept. 22. The following Monday night, however, will kick off with the season 3 premiere of “9-1-1,” as the successful drama moves to the night’s 8 p.m. time slot, acting as the lead-in for the series premiere of “Prodigal Son” at 9 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 24 will feature the season 3 premiere of “The Resident” at 8 p.m., followed by “Empire” at 9 p.m, as the music drama begins its final season. Meanwhile, this season’s unscripted smash hit, “The Masked Singer,” will return with its 2-hour season 2 premiere Wednesday, Sept. 25.

FOX’s premiere week will be rounded out by the return of “Thursday Night Football” on Sept. 26, and the debut of its slightly new animated comedy lineup on Sunday, Sept. 29. The night will feature the season premiere of “The Simpsons” in the comedy’s usual 8 p.m. time slot, but will, this season, be followed by the series premiere of “Bless the Harts” at 8:30 p.m.

The new comedy will be followed by the returns of “Bob’s Burgers” and “Family Guy,” as both veterans are pushed back a half-hour to the night’s 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. time slots.

Only one of FOX’s fall scripted series will premiere after the first week of the season, as the new drama, “Almost Family,” makes its series premiere Wednesday, Oct. 2, following “The Masked Singer.” “WWE Smackdown” will also, officially, be making its move from USA to FOX on Friday, Oct. 4.
