FOX will give its new medical drama “The Resident” the biggest push it can get on the network in January

The show will premiere Sunday, Jan. 21, following the network’s broadcast of the NFC Championship game. It then moves to Mondays the following night, taking over for “The Gifted” — which will wrap its season on Jan. 15.

“The Resident” stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Moran Atias, Merrin Dungey, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Melina Kanakaredes and Bruce Greenwood.

FOX has also set a Jan. 2 premiere date for comedy “LA to Vegas,” which will join “The Mick” on Tuesday nights. “The Mick” will move to 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, with “LA to Vegas,” about the regulars on a weekly flight between the two cities, slotting in at 9.

The cast of “LA to Vegas” includes Dylan McDermott, Kim Matula, Ed Weeks, Nathan Lee Graham, Olivia Macklin and Peter Stormare.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” which currently airs with “The Mick” on Tuesdays, is headed to hiatus following an hour-long fall finale on Dec. 12. It will return in the spring, presumably paired with the final season of “New Girl.”
