NBC has removed two new shows from its lineup.



The network has cancelled cop remake Ironside and comedy Welcome to the Family.

Ironside - which originally ran between 1967 and 1975 - has been cut after just three episodes, the latest of which suffered a dip in the ratings.

Welcome to the Family starred Desperate Housewives actor Ricardo Chavira as the head of a Latino family who are forced together with a Caucasian family after a relationship between their teenage children results in an unplanned pregnancy.

Chavira's former on-screen wife Eva Longoria had signed up to guest star in the comedy.

Meanwhile, NBC has announced a return date for cult comedy Community. The show will return for its fifth season premiere on January 2, 2014.
