Criminal Minds has been renewed for a ninth season.



CBS confirmed the show's return in a post on its official Twitter feed.

Kirsten Vangsness and AJ Cook's future on the show was said to be in doubt earlier this week, after they reportedly turned down 'final' offers from ABC Studios and CBS.

However, Deadline reports that the two actresses have signed two-year deals to continue along with Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna and Shemar Moore.

Vangsness and Cook apparently did not quite reach the salary parity of their male counterparts that they were seeking, but still received considerable pay increases.

CBS renewed 19 of its shows for the 2013-14 television season in March.
