Anna Chlumsky joins cast of NBC's 'Hannibal'

Anna Chlumsky has signed up to appear in Hannibal, it has been reported.



The Veep actress will portray an FBI trainee named Miriam Lass, who is learning her trade with Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), according to TVLine.

Chlumsky follows in the footsteps of others who have recently been confirmed for the show such as Eddie Izzard, Gina Torres and Raul Esparza.

Izzard has been cast as an asylum inmate who claims to be a notorious killer, while Esparza has been cast in the role of Doctor Chilton.

Firefly and Suits star Torres is tipped to play Jack Crawford's wife in a recurring role. She has been married to Fishburne for a decade, and the couple have one daughter.

Hannibal is loosely based on Robert Harris novel Red Dragon. It stars Casino Royale's Mads Mikkelsen in the lead role as cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter and Hugh Dancy as FBI agent Will Graham.

Bryan Fuller's 13-episode series will premiere next year on NBC.
