Jay O. Sanders joins 'Criminal Intent'

Jay O. Sanders has joined the cast of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.



TV Line reports that the actor will appear in the show's eight-part final season as the new captain of the Major Case Squad.

His character will serve as a replacement for Zoe Callas (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio), who will not be returning to the series.

Sanders previously played a guest role in a 2002 episode of Criminal Intent and has also appeared in two episodes of the original Law & Order. He will next be seen playing Carl Ferris in superhero film Green Lantern.

It was previously reported that former stars Vincent D'Onforio (Robert Goren) and Kathryn Erbe (Alexandra Eames) will return to Law & Order: Criminal Intent for the show's final run.

The crime drama will return to the USA Network on May 1.
