A.J. Cook has reportedly signed up to guest star in an episode of Law & Order: SVU.



Cook previously starred on Criminal Minds but her character Jennifer Jareau was dropped earlier this year.

TV Guide reports that Cook has now agreed to appear in the same episode of Law & Order: SVU as guest star Jeremy Irons.

She will play Debbie Shields, an OBGYN who is dating the daughter of Irons's character.

The show's executive producer Neal Baer revealed that Debbie will be "brutally attacked" and explained that he is pleased Cook signed up for the show.

"A lot of people love A.J.," he said. "So we asked, 'How about coming and starring opposite Jeremy Irons?'"

The episode featuring Cook and Irons will air next year on NBC.
