This morning, USA has officially renewed the Bill Pullman-led anthology crime series for a third season. The news comes several months after the critically-acclaimed series wrapped up its second season last September. Pullman is set to return for the third season, where he will reprise his role as Detective Harry Ambrose.

Additionally, USA has announced that Matt Bomer will be coming onboard for the new season, in a lead role opposite Pullman. The season will reportedly follow Pullman’s Detective Ambrose as he begins an investigation into a seemingly routine, tragic car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, New York, only to uncover a hidden crime that pulls him into the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career.

Bomer will play the role of Jamie, a Dorchester resident and expectant father who looks to Ambrose for support in the wake of the accident. The former “White Collar” star succeeds Jessica Biel and Carrie Coon, who had taken on the lead roles opposite Pullman in the show’s first and second seasons, respectively.

While the show’s first season was both a critical and audience hit for USA, the second received a much more muted response. It averaged a 0.3 live + same day rating in the adults 18-49 demo, with 1.10 million viewers, down from the first season’s 0.5 rating and 1.80 million viewer averages.
