The network on Wednesday announced the Season 3 premiere date (Sunday, June 17) for the drama starring Jennifer Lopez — and also said the season will be the show’s last.

“I have enjoyed producing and starring in this beautifully complicated world and playing such an empowering yet flawed character — a woman, a detective, but, first and foremost, a mother,” Lopez, who’s also an executive producer of the series, says in a statement. “… We crafted a poetic three-season arc on how her journey ends, which is true redemption.”

“Shades of Blue” is at the moment the only scripted show on NBC’s summer schedule, which will also include mainstays “America’s Got Talent” and “American Ninja Warrior,” along with the second season of the Lopez-produced “World of Dance” (she’s also a judge for the competition).

The show could be joined by a handful of other scripted series in the summer. NBC has yet to announce premiere dates for the second seasons of “Marlon,” “Midnight, Texas” and “Trial & Error” or for new drama “Reverie.”

“Shades of Blue” averaged a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers for initial airings in Season 2. Those numbers rose to 1.4 and 7 million with a week of delayed viewing.
