Rookie Blue has been cancelled after six seasons on the beat.



The ABC cop show ended its sixth season last month in the US with lead character Officer Andy McNally (Missy Peregrym) getting married.

"After six seasons, the series reached a natural conclusion, and this season's finale was the perfect wrap-up for both our rookies and for fans," said Christine Shipton, SVP and Chief Creative Officer at Shaw Media.

During its sixth season, Rookie Blue fell to a ratings low of 0.5 (3.44m), but did rise two-tenths of a point to 0.7 (3.68m) for its series finale.

The Canadian show airs in the UK on Universal, which premiered the sixth season on July 12.

Back in July, Channel 5 also picked up UK broadcasting rights to the first two seasons.
