Earlier today (October 9), The Peacock Network made Blindspot the first new drama this year to earn a full-season pick-up.

Blindspot has been granted an additional nine episodes, bringing its total season one count to 22.

The crime drama centres on Thor's Jaimie Alexander as Taylor Shaw, a formerly-missing woman who resurfaces in New York with strange tattoos covering her body.

With no memory of where she's been for the past 25 years, Taylor turns to childhood friend and FBI agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) to help her unravel the mystery.

Blindspot was created by Martin Gero, who previously worked on Bored to Death and Stargate: Atlantis.

NBC airs Blindspot on Mondays at 10pm ET in the US. Sky Living has picked up the drama for the UK.
