CSI is to end its run after 15 years on the air.CBS announced today (May 13) that the long-running procedural will wrap with a two-hour TV movie on September 27.
Original CSI stars will return for the send-off, with William Peterson (Gil Grissom) and Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) already confirmed.
The decision was announced at the CBS Upfronts in New York by President of CBS Entertainment Nina Tassler.
With CSI drawing to a close, Ted Danson - who currently leads the flagship show as DB Russell - will join spinoff CSI: Cyber as a new series regular.
Cyber is now the last show in the franchise left standing, following the earlier cancellations of CSI: Miami in 2012 and CSI: NY in 2013.
