ABC has ordered a pilot for a new talent competition series.

You're Booked will be a mix between the Got Talent and Dragons' Den/Shark Tank global franchises, in which acts attempt to impress judges for a prize.

The new series will feature a wide variety of acts - such as singers, dancers and comedians - aiming to win a slot at some of America's biggest venues.

It is based on the format created by UK production company Gogglebox Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Roxy's Nic Adler, MGM Resorts International senior VP Chris Baldizan, AEG Live senior VP Ali Harnell and Caesars Entertainment Corp's Kurt Melien will serve as judges.

It will be produced by Shark Tank's Clay Newbill and America's Got Talent's James Sunderland.

"We're hoping that we can craft a next-generation and different iteration of a talent experience with the real world immediacy of booking," Sony Pictures Television's Holly Jacobs said.

"The most real world experience in the entertainment field is to be able to be booked in venues and that's what we wanted to reflect."

Each episode will be self-contained, rather than a long-running season-based competition. At least one act will receive a booking per episode.

"We're striving to develop something that feels like we haven't exactly seen this before," Jacobs added. "We're taking the best of what we love about Shark Tank and taking a variety show and bringing this real-world element to it."

A pilot episode has been filmed at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

"It's not always about a recording contract; it's about being able to be booked in a real venue where people come and see you and building a career to be a real working artist," Jacobs continued.

"We like the real-worldness of it all. It's one of the most wonderful pieces of Shark Tank, that you can actually be changing people's lives every single week. We're hoping to do the same on You're Booked."
