'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' renewed by TLC

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has been renewed for a second season.



TLC has also ordered three holiday specials of the reality television show on the eve of its season finale.

The show revolves around 7-year-old beauty pageant contestant Alana Thompson and her family of self-proclaimed rednecks, who live in a small town in Georgia.

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has become a pop culture phenomenon," said TLC general manager Amy Winter in a statement.

"What you see is what you get and we are excited to share even more of Alana and her family's unbridled hilarity, sincerity and love with our viewers."

Thompson first appeared in Toddlers & Tiaras before starring in the spinoff show.

The specials will air on Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
