'Dr. Phil' creator steps down from CBS

CBS producer Terry Wood has announced she is to step down from her position after twelve years with the network.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wood will leave her role as the company's president of creative affairs and development at the end of this year.

"Over the past twelve years, Terry has made substantial and lasting contributions to CBS Television Distribution and helped define the current face of daytime television in the process," the company said of her departure.

During her time at CBS, Wood launched a number of popular series including the likes of Dr. Phil, Judge Judy and Entertainment Tonight.
