ABC is holding onto all of its “Bachelor” titles for, at least, another year

Announced today during the network’s summer TCA press tour appearance, ABC confirmed that it has renewed “The Bachelorette” for its sixteenth season and “Bachelor in Paradise” for its seventh season – both of which will air in 2020. The news comes a little less than a week after “The Bachelorette” wrapped up its most recent season with solid ratings, while “Bachelor in Paradise” is set to premiere its sixth season on the network later tonight.

Back in May, ABC renewed “The Bachelor” for another season as well, which is also set to premiere next year. Just like with the renewal of “The Bachelor” too, ABC’s decision to bring back “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” next year doesn’t come as much of a surprise today.

Both shows have been consistently strong unscripted performers for the network, especially in the summer season when most of the other networks are struggling to maintain any kind of strong, steady ratings presence throughout the months.

In its fifteenth season, “The Bachelorette” averaged a strong 1.5 live + same day rating among adults 18-49 and 5.77 million viewers, almost perfectly even with its previous season’s L+SD averages (1.5, 5.79 million). “Bachelor in Paradise,” meanwhile, averaged a 1.2 rating Monday nights last season and a 1.1 on Tuesdays, down just a bit from its 1.4 and 1.2 averages the year before.
