FOX has officially renewed the Gordon Ramsay-hosted kids cooking show for an eighth season, the news of which comes a little over a month after the unscripted series wrapped up its seventh season on the network.

In addition to the show’s renewal, it has been announced that Daphne Oz, a former co-host on “The Chew,” will be joining the series as a judge on the new season. Oz will be taking the place of Christina Tosi, acting as one of the season’s judges alongside Gordon Ramsay and Aaron Sanchez.

Its renewal today doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as “MasterChef Junior,” which features young home cooks from all across the country going head-to-head in cooking challenges, has consistently been a solid ratings performer for FOX. In its seventh season alone, the series averaged a pretty good 0.7 live + same day rating among adults 18-49 with 2.83 million viewers.

The series is produced by Endemol Shine North America and One Potato Two Potato. Elisabeth Murdoch, Georgie Hurford-Jones, Gordon Ramsay, Natalka Znak, Danny Schrader, Patricia Llewellyn, and Ben Adler all serve as executive producers as well.
