Announced this afternoon, the network has officially renewed “Making It” for a second season. The news of which comes just ahead of the show’s fourth episode, set to air later tonight. Hosts Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman released a joint statement expressing their (pun-filled) excitement over the news:

“We’re sew excited to be Making It again. We promise season two will have you glued to your seat.”

The series, which features a weekly reunion between the two “Parks & Recreation” stars, is a (friendly) competition show that pits several of the country’s most talented and imaginative craftsman in weekly contests to see who can create the best handmade pieces. Each week the winners are awarded patches for their works, as they all compete for the final $100,000 cash prize.

“Seeing firsthand the imagination of a true craftsman and, literally, watching them create something out of nothing is pure gold,” said Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Reality group at NBC Entertainment. “Amy and Nick’s longtime friendship and affection for one another brings the show to a whole other level of fun and we look forward to seeing what season two will bring.”

“We set out to make a boundlessly affirmative and inspiring show and we are thrilled with the way viewers and the press have embraced it,” added Meredith Ahr, President at Universal Television Alternative Studio. “Amy and Nick bring creativity, leadership and comedic brilliance to everything they do and we can’t wait to team up with them again and shine a light on a new group of talented makers.”

In its freshman season, the unscripted series has been averaging a 1.0 live + same day rating in the adults 18-49 demographic, and a 1.4 with seven days of delayed viewing. It currently ranks as this summer’s most-watched new show, and has tied with FOX’s “Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell & Back” for the no. 1 new show in the 18-49 demo.

“Making it” airs every Tuesday night on NBC. Its six-episode freshman season will air its finale episode Sept. 4.
