The network made the announcement Friday, a week and change ahead of unveiling its schedule for 2018-19. Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie and host Ryan Seacrest will all return to their roles next season.

“‘American Idol’s’ return on ABC has shown once again that viewers love to discover and support raw talent,” executive producer Trish Kinane says in a statement. “Our new judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie have brought huge credibility, energy and fun to the show this year, and we are so excited to continue the journey with Ryan Seacrest at the helm in the search for the next superstar.”

“Idol” has put up solid ratings for ABC thus far, doubling the network’s adults 18-49 average for 8-10 p.m. Sunday nights and holding up pretty well vs. “The Voice” on Mondays.

Sunday airings of the show have averaged a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.89 million viewers, improving to 2.1 and 9.3 million with a week of delayed viewing. “Idol’s” Monday numbers are pretty similar — 1.6 and 7.62 million the night it airs, rising to 2.1 and about 9.5 million after seven days of catchup.

Along with “Idol,” ABC has renewed unscripted series “Dancing With the Stars,” “The Bachelor,” “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “Child Support” for next season. Dramas “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Good Doctor” and comedies “Roseanne,” “Modern Family” and “The Goldbergs” are also set for 2018-19.
