FOX will not let much time pass between the first and second seasons of its singing competition “The Four: Battle for Stardom.”

The network has set a June 7 premiere for Season 2 of the show. That’s just four months since the first season ended its six-episode run — more akin to the length of time between cycles of “The Voice” than the once-a-year structure that served FOX for 15 seasons of “American Idol.”

Judges Sean Combs, Meghan Trainor and DJ Khaled will return to the show, along with host Fergie. Music executive Charlie Walk, who was cut from the finale after being accused of sexual harassment, will not return. (After more allegations were reported in late February, Walk subsequently left his job as president of Republic Records.)

“The Four” performed reasonably well for FOX during its brief run in January and February. The show averaged a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.64 million viewers the night it aired, rising to 1.4 and 4.2 million with a week of delayed viewing.

FOX says “The Four” posted the best ratings for a new unscripted series on the network since 2014.

The show will join a summer lineup on the network that also includes new seasons of “Beat Shazam,” “Love Connection,” “Masterchef” and “So You Think You Can Dance,” along with new series “Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back.”
