The network has given an eight-episode order to — deep breath — “Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell & Back,” a restaurant makeover show. (The celebrity chef does not actually go to Hell, perhaps so as not to infringe on the territory of another FOX show, “Lucifer.”)

It’s essentially “Kitchen Nightmares” with a countdown clock, with Ramsay attempting to turn around failing eateries in just a day’s time. He’ll come equipped with a 70-foot semi trailer known as “Hell on Wheels,” which transforms into a mobile kitchen where he can whip the staff into shape while the restaurant is being redone.

“The restaurant business is one of the toughest there is — and no one knows that more than Gordon,” Rob Wade, FOX’s head of alternative entertainment and specials, says in a statement. “Watching him try to save these businesses, not to mention restore the livelihoods of hardworking men and women, really puts the pressure on — and doing this as the clock ticks challenges him like never before.”

If you’re keeping score, “24 Hours to Hell & Back” is the seventh show for Ramsay on FOX, and the third with “Hell” in the title.

The 17th season of “Hell’s Kitchen” premieres Sept. 29, and “Masterchef Junior” is set for later in 2017-18 season. “Masterchef” will likely return in the summer of 2018, while there’s no word on “The F Word” yet. “Hotel Hell” and “Kitchen Nightmares” are no longer airing.

FOX hasn’t yet slotted a premiere date for the new show.
