'So You Think You Can Dance' renewed for 12th season by Fox

Fox has renewed the talent competition So You Think You Can Dance.



The show will return for a 12th season in the summer of 2015.

The Fox competition will return with an all new format that will feature two teams consisting of the Top 20 dancers, 10 street dancers and 10 stage dancers.

The teams will compete live each week with the hopes of staying in the competition.

One street dancer and one stage dancer will be sent home each week.

"The competition is going to be much more exciting for viewers and even more demanding for the dancers," said co-creator and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe.

"Dancers from different genres have always been competitive with each other and we've found a great way to harness that to bring out the absolute best performances in the best dancers across the country."
