Adele holds firm at singles No.1

Adele, singer
Adele has finished at number one on the UK singles chart for a third consecutive week with ‘Someone Like You’.

The second release from the star’s mega-selling album 21 posted its strongest sales figures yet in the last seven days, shifting over 116,000 copies to stay at pole position ahead of ‘Price Tag’ by Jessie J and Rihanna’s ‘S&M’, both of which are also unmoved from their places last Sunday.

Elsewhere, Lady GaGa’s ‘Born This Way’ returns to the giddy heights of the list after a temporary tumble, finishing at four from last week’s eight, while Adele is down a place at five with ‘Rolling In The Deep’.

Also turning up in the top ten for a second time is Jessie J, whose ‘Do It Like Dude’ climbs three places from 13 in a result fuelled by the release of her long-awaited debut album Who You Are.

Lower down the numbers, Tiesto vs Diplo and Busta Rhymes shoot 21 places up the chart with ‘C’mon (Catch ‘Em By Surprise)’ at 13, while Dr Dre comeback ‘I Need A Doctor’, which also features Eminem and Skylar Grey, is up nine places to 15 in its fifth week of release.

However, the reverse is true for JLS and Cee Lo Green, as ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ and ‘Forget You’ fall six and four places respectively, landing together at 17 and 18.

Finally, just beyond the top half of the chart are the Foo Fighters, who score the highest new entry of the week at 22 with ‘Rope’, their 25th UK release.
