Grand Theft Auto V tops the gaming charts for a 12th time

Once again it is Grand Theft Auto V that sits on top of the weekly UK retail charts. And it does so for the 12th time since its original release in September, 2013. Earning 12 top spots in the charts is not a record, but only 5 titles have managed to do so since the charts began. The record holder? Who Want’s To Be A Millionaire? from Eidos, which managed a whopping 18 weeks at number one. Wii Fit sits at number two with 16 weeks.

However, it should be noted that the number two game this week, the PS4 exclusive Nioh from Koei Tecmo and Sony (European publisher), did pull in the most revenue thanks to its higher average price of £44.45. It also took number one in the individual chart. The number one of the last two charts, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard falls to number three.
