Tom Hardy’s Legend has shot straight to the top of the UK box office.
The Kray twins biopic fought off competition from Maze Runner: The Scorch Trails to take the box office in its first weekend.
Legend is now the UK’s biggest September release and has also achieved the biggest ever opening for a British-made film with an 18 certificate.
Meanwhile, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trails is at two with £2.8m, while horror film The Visit in at 3 with £1m.
Straight Outta Compton is at four with £630,325, Inside Out is at five with £608,638 and Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation is at six with £302,316.
Pixels is at seven with £272,539 and No Escape is at eight with £254,383.
Finally, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Secret Cinema 2015) is at nine and Irrational Man rounds out the top ten with 197,188.
